How to shift your awareness from the physical to the prophetic realm?

Everyone lives according to a program: the program is responsible for how we think, how we feel, and how we live. It is primarily responsible for our diverse personalities, as well as our personal existence. The program determines where we focus our attention: everyone’s awareness shapes their perception of the world in which we live.

For example, let’s look at how the prophets in the Old Testament viewed their outer environment. When Israel became covenanted with God, their awareness of the Spirit of God was responsible for the experiences that they would have. Those who were committed to the covenant lived in a place where they recognized the Spirit of God in everything. That explains why they consistently used terms like ‘The Lord caused’ and they consistently acknowledged the Spirit of God by stating the Spirit of God caused this or that. This concept was applied in advantageous and disadvantageous situations alike.

Let’s look at this excerpt taken from the book of Joshua 10: Amp 6 So the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, saying, “Do not abandon your servants; come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all [five of] the kings of the Amorites who live in the hill country have assembled against us.” 7 So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, and all the men of valor. 8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, because I have given them into your hand; not one of them shall stand before you.” 9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, [surprising them] by marching [uphill] all night from Gilgal. 10 And the Lord caused them to panic and be confused before Israel, and He struck them dead in a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goes up to Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

This excerpt confirms to us that Joshua’s awareness was not of the physical realm but in the prophetic realm because he lived in mindfulness of the Covenant. They acknowledged that everything was guided by the Spirit because that is the realm where manifestation takes place. It is also worthy of taking note that, despite facing a combined army, Joshua stood firm on the prophetic (what God said) and engaged the enemy. Even when the odds seemed stacked against them, they remained aware of the Spirit of God.

When Moses died, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to Joshua and he received directions on how to function in union with God. Joshua 1:8 reads: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.

Many people interpret this from a lens of morality but we at the Institute of Pneumatology have discovered that the Bible gives insight to spiritual function which better enables us to function in harmony with the Spirit of God. The thoughts that God shared with Joshua were equivalent to spiritual principles, that helped him to identify how something works. If Joshua maintained awareness, by meditation (Merriam Dictionary’s definition of meditation is to focus one thoughts on), on the Book of the Law which contained God’s perspectives on life, then he was guaranteed success and prosperity.

For many Believers, it can seem like a daunting task, especially when we’re conditioned to live in the physical but according to spiritual laws of function, our reality changes based on our awareness. If you would like to get spiritually trained for harmony with the Spirit of God that fills all, then I encourage you to shift your life principles or inspiration from things of the dust to things of the Spirit or the prophetic realm and things will begin to manifest.
